What we treat · Clifton, NJ

    Surgical & injury scars

Move forward with more confidence in your skin.

A scar can hold your attention long after the healing is over. Explore ways to improve its appearance, with treatment chosen for the scar you have and the change you would like to see.

    Understanding surgical & injury scars

A scar may be raised, indented, discolored or different in texture from the surrounding skin. Its age, location and healing history matter. Cosmetic improvement starts with understanding those features, rather than treating every scar alike.

Bring the story of the scar

Tell Dr. Patel when the surgery or injury happened, how it healed and what you have used on the area. Bring any instructions from your surgeon or treating clinician.

Fractional laser is one of our options for suitable scars. The consultation identifies whether texture, color or both should be the focus and whether another type of care is needed.

    Plan treatment around healthy healing

A recent scar is still changing. The right time to begin depends on healing and the advice of your treating clinician; there is no single waiting period that fits every surgery.

We discuss the area, recovery and reassessment before a course. Consistent photographs can help you see gradual changes that are easy to miss day to day.

    Questions worth asking

Can laser erase a surgical scar?

Laser can improve the appearance of some scars, but it does not make the original injury disappear. We discuss the improvement that is realistic for your scar.

What about raised scars or keloids?

Raised scars may need a different approach or specialist management. Mention a history of keloids before any procedure.

Can you treat a C-section scar?

A healed C-section scar can be discussed at consultation. The area, symptoms, scar type and healing history determine whether our services are appropriate.

    What is the price?

Fractional scar treatment is listed at $1,000 per session, with three sessions for $2,000 when that course is suitable. Your consultation confirms the treatment area and plan.
